It is Friday and its time for some writing links! Sorry this is a bit late, but the siren song of running errands and grocery shopping was too much to resist!
Yeah Write is a weekly writing/blogging linkup that I wrote about on Tuesday. The post was actually inspired by a comment I saw where one blogger took issue with having their post sent back for revision. If you have a blog where you can post your creative non-fiction, then you can take part. (If you have a niche blog that deals with Internet marketing, this might not work.) This week’s linkup is over, but the post containing this week’s prompts will go live at midnight Eastern time on Monday.
Plains Magazine is a new monthly regional magazine where I am featured as one of the Prairie Voices. My article is on page 14.
From the Renegade Writer: Boost Your Freelance Writing Career for Just 30 Bucks. Linda Formiachelli and Carol Tice are hosting another audit of their popular 4 Week J-School course. I’ve been through this course and I highly recommend it. If you’ve been thinking about freelance or article writing, this course will cover the basics of what markets are out there, how to find sources, how to write the article and journalism ethics. The best part is that the tuition is pay what you want as long as it’s over 30 dollars. For this price, you can’t go wrong.
From Jeff Goins: My Personal Campaign to Beat 50 Shades of Grey. Jeff Goins, a popular blogger, just released a book called Wrecked. From now through Saturday, August 11, Jeff is offering the e-book version of this book for only 99 cents. I have not read the book yet, but I plan on taking advantage of this offer myself.
